We want to hear your views

We are sure you are aware that the days when we simply put out fires are long gone. Our remit is much wider now and includes responding to the threat of terrorism, as well as working even harder with our community partners to prevent fires and other accidents – particularly on our roads – from happening in the first place.

The Fire & Rescue Service Act 2004 places new responsibilities on us to seek more efficient and effective ways of providing these many services. It also puts a new focus on making sure the public and our front-line staff are not exposed to unnecessary risks.

We must therefore focus our resources on public safety and operational training while still being available for emergency calls where the public are at risk. While doing this, we must do everything we can to ensure the safety of our staff.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service frequently invites interested parties to comment on proposals relating to changes in the way we respond to certain types of incident.
