The New Dimension Programme was established with the aim to enhance the country’s resilience and ability to respond to disruptive challenges.
As a consequence the Urban Search and Rescue capability was developed and integrated within the core business of Fire and Rescue Services.
Wholetime opportunities (42 hours a week)
Due to anticipated movement of personnel over the coming months, vacancies are likely to be occurring within Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s dedicated USAR team.
Expressions of interest are sought from personnel who have current operational experience and are able to respond to Aylesbury Fire Station within up to 45 minutes from their home address.
Desirable requirements include appropriate USAR qualifications, e.g. USRT1 & 2 and USWAH. Training would be available if these qualifications are not currently held.
You must be flexible in your approach to working hours in order to reflect the local requirements of the USAR capability, as well as supporting regional and national events.
Staff will be required to provide extended periods of response that may occur both inside and outside the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority area.
Remuneration: Competent
Watch Manager (A) = £42,154
Crew Manager = £40,154
Firefighter/Technician = £36,238
