A vacancy has arisen for a Project Support Officer within the Special Projects Team located in Brigade Headquarters. The Special Projects Team is responsible for the delivery of two projects, Firelink and FiReControl within BFRS.
FiReControl and Firelink are two very high profile national projects managed regionally by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is one of nine brigades forming the South East Region.
The Team currently consists of one Group Manager, one Special Projects Officer and a Project Support Officer to look after the increasing work involved in these projects.
As Project Support Officer, it is essential that you have strong planning, prioritising and organisational skills, together with experience of working on projects. It is also important that you have a sound knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook and possess excellent keyboard skills. Knowledge of MS Project would also be advantageous.
Whilst the role deals with the normal administration functions expected from a Support Officer, you will also be expected to liaise with a number of other parties from the Regional and National Projects. The role will also require you to assist with monitoring monthly budgetary returns so financial experience would be an asset.
As Project Support Officer, you will have to work for periods without supervision, therefore you must be self motivated and you will be required to prioritise and manage your workload, in order to achieve expected levels of performance.
