Two men were both sentenced to one year in prison yesterday after appearing at Aylesbury Crown Court charged with four counts of arson among other charges of vandalism. The incidents happened in the Fairford Leys area of Aylesbury on Sunday 17 February.
Bryan Dugdale, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s Area Manager Safety, said: “This case shows how seriously the police, the fire service and the courts treat arson. These offences could easily have led to serious consequences.
“Arson is a very serious offence. The fires in the Fairford Leys area of Aylesbury not only made life miserable for the community, but also put lives in danger. We hope this conviction serves as a warning to arsonists and reassures people in Aylesbury.”
