Firefighters and community safety staff will be teaming up with Toys R Us in Milton Keynes on Saturday (5 July) for a special event underlining the importance of child safety.

It will take place at the store at the Leisure Plaza in Grafton Gate West from 10am to 4pm.

Between 10am and 2pm, community safety staff will be inviting children under the age of 12 to sample Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's Firefighter Experience. It's a lorry containing soft play equipment in which youngsters can search for casualties and rescue them - in complete safety, of course.

A crew from Great Holm Fire Station will be making an appearance with a fire engine during the day - emergency incidents permitting. Toys R Us have also arranged for Fireman Sam to be present.
