Aylesbury Fire Station's open day takes place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 9 September 2006.
It will be raising money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund and Park School, which helps children with learning difficulties and is one of our neighbours in Stocklake. Attractions include:
- A demonstration showing how quickly a fire can spread in a typical living room
- A demonstration showing how dangerous it is to try to tackle a chip pan fire with water
- Two rescue displays by firefighters
- A display by our Search and Rescue team
- Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s Community Safety outreach vehicle
- The British Red Cross Fire & Emergency Support Service vehicle
Chesham Fire Station's open day takes place from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 9 September 2006 at Chesham Fire Station in Bellingdon Road, Chesham.
It has been organised as one of the events to celebrate Chesham Heritage Weekend.
Firefighters will stage two "extrications". These are demonstrations which show how they rescue people who are trapped in vehicles after collisions.
Chesham Fire Station's ERF Rescue Pump will be on display, and there will also be refreshments and other attractions.
Chesham's vintage hand-drawn fire engine will be on display at nearby Chesham Museum. The open day will be raising money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.
