Fire and rescue council tax rise proposed

29 January 2010

Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority will be asked to consider a 2.5 per cent rise in its share of the council tax, which pays for the fire and rescue service, at its meeting on 12 February.

It would put the annual band D charge up by £1.44 for the year, from £57.69 in 2009-2010 to £59.13 in 2010-2011.

The authority’s executive committee agreed to make the proposal at its meeting this morning.

Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority receives about 4p in every £ of your total council tax bill. The rest pays for council and police services.
