Firefighters released an injured woman last night who was trapped after a collision in Milton Keynes involving two cars.

Crews from Great Holm and Bletchley were called to the incident in Livesey Hill, Shenley Lodge, at 8.42pm. One of the cars had crashed through a barrier and was hanging over an underpass (see picture below).

The woman was handed into the care of paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service. Paramedics also treated two men who were injured.

Watch Manager Graham Freer, the incident commander, from Great Holm Fire Station, said: "It was a difficult extrication because of the position of the vehicle."

The stop message was sent at 9.35pm and firefighters remained at the scene for a further 45 minutes to make it safe.
