The annual fund-raising event in memory of popular Aylesbury firefighter Alistair “Ali” Haddow takes place next week (Friday 5 September) at Silverstone Golf Club near Stowe.
Last year, when it was held for the first time, the Ali Haddow Memorial Fund Golf Day raised £3,500 for The Fire Fighters Charity.
Ali died last year just a few years after retiring following 30 years’ service with Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Fund chairman Dean Elliott, Station Manager at Amersham and Gerrards Cross Fire Stations, said: “Ali used his passion for sport as a means to help raise thousands of pounds for many local charitable causes.
“Fittingly, friends from the three main circles Ali moved in – Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, Bernewode Golf Society and his home village of Grendon Underwood – now come together every year to carry on the tradition.”
Up to 90 people will be taking part in this year's competition, which local organisations have supported by donating raffle prizes.
