Firefighters worked with paramedics to help a woman who was injured in a minibus crash on the M40 this morning. Six other people were uninjured.

Crews from High Wycombe and Stokenchurch were called at 10.11am, along with Station Manager John Bull, after the vehicle left the west northbound carriageway between Handy Cross and Stokenchurch and overturned.

Firefighters used a short extension ladder to help the woman up the embankment and handed her into the care of paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service. They also made the vehicle safe to avoid the risk of a fire.

The Stokenchurch crew, one of the High Wycombe crews and John also worked with their colleagues from Watlington in Oxfordshire at the scene of another collision about an hour earlier. It involved a pick-up truck and happened on the west northbound carriageway between junctions 5 (Stokenchurch) and 6 (Chinnor).
