There are just five days left to enter this year's "Stowe Run" - known more formally as the 33rd annual Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Cross Country Race, incorporating the UK Fire Services Cross Country Championships.
The event will be held in the historic National Trust-owned Stowe Landscape Gardens, near Buckingham, on Sunday 3 October 2010. The 8km/5 mile course crosses the picturesque Palladian Bridge. A 4km/2.5 mile run is also available.
Organiser Eddie Gutteridge, Life Vice-President of the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Sports Association, said: "It is a rare privilege to organise an event at Stowe.
“We look forward to welcoming seasoned veterans and first-timers to what is without doubt one of the most picturesque venues available for an event of this type.”
A map showing the venue location can be found on the National Trust website here. The venue postcode is MK18 5EH.
The entry fee is £10 per person (plus supporters hot meals £2.60). Cheques should be made payable to E.H. Gutteridge. Each entry received will result in a £1 donation to The Fire Fighters Charity.
The closing date for entries is Friday 17 September 2009. For more information, contact Eddie Gutteridge on 01296 715203 or Darryl Keen on 01296 744462.
