It is with great sadness that we report the sudden death of Councillor Pauline Wilkinson MBE at the weekend.

Councillor Wilkinson, who was re-elected to Buckinghamshire County Council earlier this month, had been a member of Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority since 2008. She had represented Buckinghamshire County Council's Amersham division since 2001.

Councillor Richard Pushman, Chairman of Buckinghamshire County Council, said: "Pauline was a well respected past Chairman of the County Council and her sudden death has come as a shock to us all.

"She had worked so hard for her community over the years and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this very sad time."

Councillor Wilkinson's services to the community were recognised in 2003 when she was awarded the MBE.
