Stowe cross country 2009 - entries invited

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's 32nd annual Cross Country Race, incorporating the UK Fire Services Cross Country Championships, takes place on Sunday 11 October 2009.

The event will be held in the historic National Trust-owned Stowe Landscape Gardens, near Buckingham, and the 8km/5 mile course crosses the picturesque Palladian Bridge. A half-distance run is also available.

Eddie Gutteridge, Life Vice-President of the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Sports Association, remains the driving force behind the event.

He said: "This is without doubt one of the best cross-country courses in the country. All members of UK brigades are cordially invited to come and enjoy the special atmosphere that is Stowe.”

Further information and entry forms are available to download below. The closing date for entries is Friday 17 September 2009. The entry fee is £10 per person, plus £2.50 supporters' hot meals if required.

The event will be raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, the National Trust and Stowe School Sports Fund.
