Firefighters released an injured man from his car after a collision on the M40 this morning.

Crews from High Wycombe and Beaconsfield were called to the incident, on the east southbound stretch between junctions 4 (High Wycombe) and 3 (Loudwater), at 6.13am. They used hydraulic cutting gear to release the driver.

Station Manager John Bull from High Wycombe Fire Station, who also attended the incident, said: "It was a complicated extrication because of the position and location of the car.

"It was on its side on the embankment and caught up in a tree. Firefighters had to cut away parts of the tree to make it easier to gain access to the injured man."
