More than 50 motorcyclists attended yesterday’s informal drop-in session at Winslow Fire Station.
Visitors were able to collect information about training courses and talk to firefighters and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s road safety manager Keith Wheeler about safety issues on local roads.
Keith said afterwards: “We were very pleased with the way it went. There was also a lot of interest in the bikes from passing members of the public.”
Nationally, motorcyclists account for about one per cent of road traffic but more than 15 per cent of fatalities in collisions.
Motorcyclists who were unable to attend yesterday are invited to a second drop-in session at Winslow Fire Station from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 12 July.
Keith would also like to make bikers aware of two other forthcoming events:
- Cassington Bike Night, Cassington, near Oxford, Monday 29 June from 6pm.
- Ludgershall Bike Night, Ludgershall, off the A41 between Waddesdon and Bicester, Monday 6 July from 6pm.
