Lorry fire on M40 this morning (+ picture)

Firefighters from High Wycombe, Stokenchurch and Waddesdon are pictured at the scene of a lorry fire on the M40 this morning.

They were called to the incident on the east southbound stretch between junctions 5 (Stokenchurch) and 4 (High Wycombe) at 6.42am. They used two hose reels, two sets of breathing apparatus and foam to put out the fire.

Station Manager Jeremy Williams, who also attended the incident, said: "We were able to confine the fire to the tractor unit of the towing vehicle and prevent it from spreading to the concrete crusher it was carrying."
