A generous donation has boosted one of Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s fire station’s efforts for charity.
Bletchley Fire Station has been given a voucher by Woburn Golf Club offering four people the chance to play a round of golf at one of their three championship courses.
Watch Manager Bob Stilton, Bletchley Blue Watch, said: “We are extremely grateful for this donation from Woburn Golf Club. To recognise the value of this offer we have decided to auction the prize to help raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
“This fantastic prize is valid until February 2010 for use midweek and is worth £450. We are hoping that by auctioning it to the public we will be able to generate some much-needed funds for this worthwhile charity.”
The auction coincides with the station opening its doors to the public for its annual open day from 12 noon to 4pm on Saturday 5 September, also raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
If you are a keen golfer (with a handicap of 24 for gentleman, 36 for ladies) and would like the opportunity to play at this prestigious golf club then please email your bids to Bob at bstilton@bucksfire.gov.uk
The deadline for all bids is 5pm on Friday 18 September 2009 with the voucher going to the highest bidder.
The Fire Fighters Charity is a national charity which provides assistance to serving and retired fire and rescue service staff, their families and dependants.
