Fire safety awareness day - Iver Heath

Four of the key messages in our safety checks - Fit smoke alarms; Test them every week; Plan an escape route; Get out, stay out and call 999.

8 June 2009

Visitors to the Iver Heath Co-op will be able to pick up a little extra with their shopping on Sunday 28 June – vital fire safety advice, and the opportunity to book a fire safety visit.

Firefighters from Gerrards Cross Fire Station will be outside the Thornbridge Road store from 10am to talk to shoppers about ways in which they can reduce the risk of a fire in their homes.

They will also be handing out forms and inviting residents to have a free fire safety check in their homes, with free smoke alarms fitted where required.

Watch Manager Andy Maloney said: “We are hoping local people will take the opportunity to come and talk to us about fire safety, and sign up to have a free safety check.”
