Charity car wash - Great Missenden

27 March 2009

Apologies for the cancellation of the car wash to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which was originally planned to take place at Great Missenden Fire Station on Saturday 28 March. Unfortunately the date clashed with a training course for the firefighters. A new date will be advertised later in the year.

Three other fire stations - Beaconsfield, Bletchley and Princes Risborough - held charity car washes earlier this month and raised nearly £1,500 between them.

A car wash will be held at Marlow Fire Station on Saturday 4 April. This will be a combined effort by firefighters from High Wycombe and Marlow Fire Stations. They will be sharing the money raised between The Fire Fighters Charity and the family of 16-year-old Elisha Herbert from Marlow. Elisha, who has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumour, has had two operations and is now undergoing radiotherapy. The car wash will run from 10am to 4pm.
