Houses evacuated after digger fire

27 October 2008
Two houses had to be evacuated and a road closed after a digger ruptured a gas mains.
A crew from Great Holm were called to Paxton Crescent in Shenley Lodge, Milton Keynes, at 12.16pm to find the digger well alight.
Firefighters evacuated the houses near to the digger as a precaution, cordoned off the area and used a hose reel monitor to contain the fire until the gas supplier arrived.
The gas supply was isolated and residents were allowed back into the homes two hours later.
