Firefighters released a man who was injured when his car was involved in a collision with three other cars near Piddington this morning.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to the incident on the A40 at 9.08am. Two crews from High Wycombe and one from Princes Risborough attended, along with Station Manager John Bull.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof and were then able to release the man, with the assistance of South Central Ambulance Service, by lifting him out over the car bonnet using a longboard.

Two men and a woman were also involved in the collision but were released before the crews arrived.

A crew from Beaconsfield Fire Station was on standby at High Wycombe Fire Station while High Wycombe's crews were at the scene.
