Two people had to be rescued from a flat in High Wycombe this morning after a car fire in the basement car park.
Crews from High Wycombe and Beaconsfield were called to the incident in Windsor Drive at 12.44am.
Group Manager Greg Smith, who also attended, said: “A man and a woman were unable to get out of one of the flats because of the amount of smoke in the hall and on the stairs. They were rescued by firefighters using a short extension ladder.”
Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet. Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
