Have your car washed by firefighters and help raise money for charity at the same time!
Saturday 13 September is National Car Wash Day which aims to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity. This annual event is the charity's largest national fundraising event of the year, and involves fire stations throughout the UK washing the nation’s cars, in exchange for a donation.
Come along to one of the following fire stations who have already signed up to take part in the day:
- Aylesbury, 12 noon to 4pm
- Beaconsfield, 11am to 3pm
- Bletchley, 11am to 3pm
- Brill, 10am to 3pm
- Great Holm, 12 noon to 4pm
- Great Missenden, 9.30am to 4pm
- Princes Risborough, 10am to 2pm
- Stokenchurch, 12 noon to 4pm
Terry Ridgley, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's representative on The Fire Fighters Charity, said: "Firefighters will have their buckets and sponges at the ready to help raise the profile of our charity and bring in some much-needed funds.”
The event also gives firefighters the unique opportunity to interact with a large cross-section of their community, and promote important community safety initiatives.
The charity provides assistance to serving and retired fire and rescue service staff, their families and dependants.
