Firefighters reached their collection target of £500 during a 20-mile charity walk from Aylesbury to Amersham on Sunday.
They didn’t do it the easy way – the five participants were weighed down with full fire kit and breathing apparatus sets!
The event was organised by Firefighter Steve Pettit, based at Amersham Fire Station, to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Dreamflight, a registered UK charity which organises special holidays for seriously ill and disabled children.
Steve was accompanied by Michael Emm and Danny Wallis from Amersham Fire Station and Ian Newton and Chris Coverley from the Urban Search and Rescue team based at Beaconsfield Fire Station.
They left Aylesbury Fire Station at 9am and arrived at Amersham Fire Station at about 4pm, passing though Wendover and Great Missenden.
Steve said: “We’d like to thank everyone who made donations to these two very worthwhile causes and encouraged us while we were walking.”
He had special thanks for Wyevale Garden Centre in Wendover and the George Hotel in Great Missenden for feeding them along the way!
