Firefighters are currently at the scene of a freight train fire on the West Coast Main Line about half a mile south of Bletchley Railway Station.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to the incident at 12.10pm. One appliance and crew from Bletchley and two from Great Holm are attending, along with Group Manager Ian Taylor and Station Manager Paul Holland.

All four lines have been closed along with a section of Drayton Road near Skew Bridge.

Firefighters were able to entinguish the blaze in the train's front locomotive after railway officials isolated the power.

Arrangements are now being made to tow the train back to sidings at Bletchley Railway Station.
