Generous shoppers helped Broughton Fire Station collect £1,200 for charity in just five hours on Saturday.

Firefighters from Green Watch and the station’s Retained Duty System crew stood outside Tesco at the Kingston Centre, Milton Keynes, from 10am to 3pm.

Firefighter Richard Allman said: “We would like to thank the public for their generosity – we were delighted with the total.”

The Fire Fighters Charity is a national charity which provides assistance to serving and retired fire and rescue service staff, their families and dependants.
