Saturday’s charity car wash at Broughton Fire Station in Milton Keynes raised £956 in just four hours.

The event was held in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity and the Meningitis Trust.

As well as washing cars, firefighters handed out leaflets inviting people to have free safety checks carried out in their homes. Click here for more details.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides assistance to serving and retired fire and rescue service staff, their families and dependants.

The Meningitis Trust supports people struggling to cope with the impact and after-effects of meningitis or associated septicaemia.
