Winslow Fire Station will be holding an open evening this Thursday (6 December).

Watch Manager Ian Chapman and the crew will be opening the doors from 5pm to 8pm and showing visitors around the fire station and the fire appliance.

There will also be an opportunity to book an appointment to have a free Home Fire Risk Check, and to find out more about what the work of an RDS (Retained Duty System) firefighter entails.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s community safety exhibition vehicle will be parked at the fire station, and staff will be displaying fire safety and road safety leaflets.

Ian said: “We will be providing refreshments and we look forward to meeting as many people as possible during the three hours.”

The event coincides with a Victorian shopping event taking place in Winslow on Thursday.
