Watch Manager Lloyd Davis, who is in charge of the RDS (Retained Duty System) crew at Aylesbury Fire Station, has been presented with a medal recognising 20 years of service and good conduct.
Lloyd was presented with his medal and certificate by Mrs Jenny Hopkirk, Vice Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire, at a ceremony at the Civic Centre in Aylesbury on Friday. The presentation is pictured above.
It was also attended by Mrs Amanda Nicholson, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Cllr David Rowlands, Chairman of Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire & Rescue Authority, and Damian Smith, Chief Fire Officer, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Lloyd began his Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service career at Whitchurch Fire Station in 1987, transferring to Aylesbury in 1997. In 1995 he joined the staff of Brigade Headquarters in Aylesbury as equipment officer.
The Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, introduced by the Queen in 1954, honours full-time and part-time members of the fire and rescue service “who have rendered long and meritorious service”.
