Friday 31 May, 11.29pm: Fire in flat on 14th floor, Mellish Court, Melrose Avenue, Bletchley. Two appliances and crews from Bletchley (call signs FJC 12P1 and FJC 12P2), three from Great Holm (call signs FJC 11P1, FJC 11A8 and FJC 11P4) and one from Broughton (call sign FJC 13P1) attended, along with Group Manager Neil Boustred and Station Managers Gary Taylor and Roy Hocking. Firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus and ventilated the flat. They led a man suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke to safety and handed him into the care of paramedics.
