Authority Committees

The Fire Authority has committees to oversee and make decisions on various aspects of Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's work.

Executive Committee 

The Executive Committee comprises seven members with the political composition being Conservatives 5, Liberal Democrats 2. The committee meets monthly to discuss issues surrounding budgets, financial arrangements, insurance and financial plans and to make recommendations to the Fire Authority for decision.

Human Resources Sub-Committee

The Human Resources Sub-Committee comprises five members, including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Fire Authority, with the political composition being Conservatives 3, Liberal Democrats 2. It considers and make decisions on behalf of the Fire Authority in respect of the appointment of its most senior officers.

Overview & Audit Committee

The Overview & Audit Committee was established in June 2010 and comprises 10 members with the political composition being Conservatives 7, Liberal Democrats 2, Labour 1. The committee meets monthly to discuss issues surrounding internal and external audits, the Statement of Accounts, the Annual Governance Statement and to make recommendations to the Executive Committee for decision.

Standards Committee

The Standards Committee comprises nine members - five elected members with the political composition being Conservatives 2, Liberal Democrats 2, Labour 1, and four independently co-opted members. The committee meets quarterly to discuss issues surrounding the Fire Authority’s Code of Conduct and training regarding this, and make recommendations to the Fire Authority for decision.
