Winslow Fire Station is located on the busy A413 High Street six miles south of Buckingham, 10 miles north of Aylesbury and 10 miles south west of Milton Keynes.

There has been a long tradition of a fire service in Winslow dating back more than 100 years.

Winslow's Firefighters answer between 100 and 150 calls a year, including calls to house fires, barn fires, vehicle fires and road traffic collisions. They are also called to assist their neighbouring stations of Buckingham, Bletchley and Aylesbury when required.

At present the complement of Firefighters stationed at Winslow is:

  • 1 x Watch Manager
  • 2 x Crew managers
  • 10 x Firefighters.

In 2006 a Station Manager was posted to Winslow to oversee the standalone retained stations in the north of the county.

Winslow's Firefighters have carried out many Home Fire Risk Checks this year to try to maintain Winslow and the surrounding communities as a safe place to live and work.

Firefighters are also committed to improving the safety and awareness of the travelling public.

In November 2006, crews carried out training so a Rescue Pump fire appliance could be stationed at Winslow.

Large or notable sites Winslow Fire Station is responsible for include Claydon House, National Grid (East Claydon), Hayley Conference Centre, Horwood House, Calvert Landfill Site and Swanbourne House School.
