Stokenchurch is an expanding old market town with both new and established industry on the A40, seven miles north-west of High Wycombe. The area served by the fire station is on the border with Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, and includes large areas of woodland, farmland and part of the M40.

The station has a history going back to a time of horse-drawn fire engines and currently houses a Rescue Pump and a Hose Layer, crewed by an establishment of 10 RDS (Retained Duty System) staff who respond to incidents from their ‘normal’ jobs working in the local community.

In charge at the station is Watch Manager Trevor Hyde. Trevor and his staff have a long-standing and proactive involvement in community fire safety, including Home Fire Risk Checks and visits to the fire station by local groups.
