Fire Warden Refresher |
|
Course overview: This course provides ‘refresher training’ for staff with a designated responsibility as fire warden or fire marshal, to ensure that they can continue to carry out their duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures. We recommend that fire wardens receive refresher training at least every two years
Who should attend: Designated fire wardens or fire marshals who have previously attended the full day Fire Warden course
Objectives: At the end of the course the student will be ‘refreshed’ in:
- Awareness of the dangers of fire
- Understanding the nature of fire and how it spreads
- Awareness of simple fire prevention measures
- Understanding what to do in the event of a fire alarm
- Ability to distinguish between different types of fire extinguishers
- Ability to tackle small fires safely and effectively
- Performing their fire safety duties
Content: A reminder and update on the following topics:
- Fire Safety legislation
- Basic fire prevention
- Building fire protection
- Evacuation procedures
- Chemistry of combustion
- Practical ‘first-aid’ firefighting on live fire
Certificate: A certificate is provided confirming attendance |
