Title Fire Safety on Petroleum Sites
Course Overview:
To provide staff who work at petroleum sites a knowledge of the legal requirements of storage and use, and a level of training which will ensure the effective management of fire safety incidents so as to safeguard members of the public and other site personnel.
Who should attend?
All staff as part of their induction or continuation training
Objectives:
At the end of the course the student will:
  • Be aware of the dangers of fire in a petroleum environment
  • Understand the nature of fire and how it spreads
  • Be aware of simple fire prevention measures
  • Understand what to do in the event of a fire alarm
  • Be able to distinguish between different types of fire extinguishers
  • Be able to tackle small fires safely and effectively
