The Fire Authority has several committees to oversee and make decisions on various aspects of Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Executive Committee (formerly Finance & General Purposes Committee)
The Executive Committee currently consists of ten members with political composition being 6:3:1.
The committee meets monthly to discuss issues surrounding budgets, financial arrangements, insurance, financial plans and make recommendations to the Fire Authority for decision.

Standards Committee
The Standards Committee currently consists of nine members - five elected members with political composition being 2:2:1, and four independently co-opted members.
The committee meets quarterly prior to the Fire Authority meeting to discuss issues surrounding the Authority’s Code of Conduct and training regarding this, and make recommendations to the Fire Authority for decision.

Overview, Performance & Audit Committee
(formerly Overview & Performance Committee)
The Overview, Performance & Audit Committee currently consists of ten members with political composition being 6:3:1
The committee will meet quarterly prior to the Fire Authority meeting to discuss issues surrounding organisational issues, performance data and targets, policies and make any recommendations to the Fire Authority for decision.

Safety Panel (formerly Community Safety Panel)
The Safety Panel was established in June 2006 and currently consists of nine members, including the Lead Member for Community Safety, with political composition being 6:2:1
The Panel will meet quarterly to discuss issues surrounding commitment toward community safety, promoting fire safety in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and focusing on prevention.
