Fire Authority Meeting

In April 1997 Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority was established following local government reorganisation. Elected councillors from Buckinghamshire County Council and Milton Keynes Council are nominated to be members of the authority and make decisions about Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service on behalf of the residents of the two areas.

Membership of the authority will rise from 17 to 21 in June 2008 - 14 from Buckinghamshire County Council and seven from Milton Keynes Council. 

The authority normally meets four times a year with an annual meeting held in June. At this annual meeting the Chairman and Vice-Chairman are appointed, and committees membership is decided

Overview, Performance & Audit Committee

Safety Panel (formerly Community Safety Panel)

All meetings are open to the media and public.  However, some confidential matters have to be discussed in private.
