School
For older schoolchildren, we have a special Key Stage 3 Fire Programme that is delivered in the classroom by firefighters from the local fire station. This programme is intended to help young people realise the far-reaching consequences of fire, particularly arson, and also to help keep them safe in their homes. Schools that are interested in receiving this input should contact their nearest fire station, or the area Partnership Manager.
For children in Key Stage 2 we strongly recommend that their schools visit the Safety Centre in Milton Keynes. This highly interactive safety experience includes a variety of safety scenarios that are of particular relevance to this age group. For more information please see www.safetycentre.co.uk
There is only a limited amount of fire safety input that we can give children in Key Stage 1, the early school years, but fire stations do try to meet as many requests for visits to schools as they possibly can, though the Key Stage 3 work does take priority. Please contact your local fire station, or area Partnership Manager, for more information.
Out-of-school projects
We know that some children do not attend regular schools, so we try to have input into out-of-school projects such as Citischool in Milton Keynes.
