Visit elderly relatives and neighbours

Think about elderly relatives and neighbours

Take time to check on elderly relatives and neighbours this Christmas and throughout the cold weather to make sure they are warm and well.

Try to make sure they are eating regular hot meals as this will help keep their energy levels up during winter.

Stocking up on tinned and frozen foods, especially vegetables, means they won’t have to go out so much when it’s cold.

Try to help them avoid having to go outside on really cold days - perhaps by running an errand such as going shopping or posting a letter.
