Microwave ovens

Microwave oven safety

Don’t put anything metal, such as cutlery or a foil tray, in the microwave.

Be careful when removing a wrapping or covering from a cooked item. Hot steam escaping from the container, as the covering is lifted, can cause painful burns.

Double-check the cooking time you have chosen and make sure you haven't accidentally pressed an extra zero.

Be very careful if you are heating up a wheatbag. A product that absorbs and stores heat in this way is a potential fire risk if not used properly. It is vital to follow the manufacturer's instructions to avoid possible injury.
